Lift the Lid Ball Success

Thanks to the Rotary Club of Brisbane Mid-City's inaugural Lift the Lid Ball, Australian Rotary Health will have several thousand dollars more to devote to mental health research.

Donations are still being received in the aftermath of the madcap night of outrageously fun Rotarians and Rotaractors and their guests.

The club's successful initiative was held on Saturday 2 June at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Chief instigator President Ross Humphries and organiser Lisa Bateson, backed by Tim Adikari and Neil Dickson, Mid-City brought together an evening of fine food and wine. The high quality 22-piece Queensland Youth Orchestras Big Band blasted off the night and kept the momentum going for the dancing. Long standing Rotarian and a director of Australian Rotary Health, Des Lawson, inspired everyone there to support the organisation's mental health research projects.

Generous donors provided prizes galore - for the best, worst and craziest hat (wearing a hat was mandatory), and for the well supported raffle (every winning ticket was purple!).
